Since 1984 Richard H. Rosenberg has been engaged in the individual practice of law specializing in criminal defense and civil rights litigation. He regularly appears in federal and state courts throughout the city and state. His cases cover the gamut of state and federal offenses. ranging from simple possession of weapon and drugs, to assault and homicide, to cases involving sophisticated narcotics conspiracies, money laundering, mail, wire, internet and immigration frauds and cases involving sophisticated white collar offenses.
Attorney Rosenberg is a native New Yorker. He received his B.S. degree from New York University and attained his Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University where he earned honors as a member of the Law Review
Mr. Rosenberg began his career in the early 1970's as the protege of a famed criminal defense and civil rights litigator at a Park Avenue law firm. He went on to serve with distinction as a Senior Trial Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan. As a prosecutor with the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City Of New York, Mr. Rosenberg helped establish and became Chief of the Special Investigations Bureau, responsible for long term and large scale narcotics investigations. He served as a faculty member of the District Attorney's Trial Advocacy Program and appeared as a lecturer at the Police Academy on various issues related to criminal justice.
For many years Mr. Rosenberg has been rated AV by his peers and has been nationally recognized in the registrar of "pre-eminent" attorneys.
